Every month the School of Education would like to recognize outstanding mentors in Elementary, Middle, and Secondary Education. The nominees of this award are recognized by their teacher candidates as memorable mentors. These mentors are noted for their added value to education and are characterized as counselors and guides who support, instruct, and advocate. The teacher candidate that nominates his/her mentor recognizes the impact the mentor has and will continue to have in their development as educators.
Mrs. Jessica Conley
I would like to nominate Mrs. Jessica Conley for mentor of the month.
First of all, she is a great teacher to her students. I have been in her classroom for two semesters and have observed her fine work. Her teaching abilities are beyond exceptional. She teaches with passion and you can tell that she loves what she does. She takes her time to make sure each student understand all the concepts and implements accommodations when needed. The students enjoy being in her classroom and are very engaged in the learning process because of her fine work. Plus, she manages her classroom so well, her students have fun in the classroom while respecting her.
Just like the students, I have also enjoyed being in her classroom. I was there for my 30 foundation hours last semester and have returned to do my Math practicum. She has helped me so much along the way. She has showed me how to go about teaching, while being very open to my ideas on doing lesson plans.
I believe Mrs. Conley should be considered for the mentor teacher of the month because of the fine work she does with her students and her love for teaching.
Has a mentor teacher she has done a great job teaching me ways to go about lesson plans and dealing with classroom management. Every teacher should have the positive attitude that Mrs. Conley portrays and the love and enthusiasm for teaching.
