At the Hendry Glades Center we are here to assist students through the registration, academic advising, financial aid advising, career services, student life, and testing processes. We all strive to provide the highest quality of support for students to ensure that you are successful in attaining your educational goals.

Amy English
Instructional Assistant, Peer Tutoring

Amy has been employed as an instructional assistant in the DLA lab with Edison State College since 2009, and became full time last July. She earned her Associate in Arts degree from Edison in the fall of 2009. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in History with a minor in Psychology. As an Instructional assistant, Amy provides support to faculty, staff, and students. Amy provides tutoring to students in addition to supervising the DLA computer lab and peer tutors.

Jaimee Howard Jaimee Howard
Student Admissions Specialist

Jaimee has worked at Edison State College since November2011. Jaimee started her career at Edison as a Student Admissions Specialist. In November 2012, she accepted the position as the Center Coordinator of Student Life at Hendry Glades Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Forensic Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University where she also worked as a student ambassador in the admissions office giving tours to prospective students seeking higher education. Jaimee is the contact for the clubs and advisor to student government here at the Center. She coordinates on-campus events to bring a college experience to students.

Elizabeth Longwell
Financial Aid and Academic Advising Specialist

Mrs. Elizabeth Longwell is the Financial Aid and Academic Advising Specialist at Edison State College Hendry/Glades center since May 2011.

Mrs. Longwell counsels students about financial aid eligibility, application procedures, and aid programs. She collects financial documents and answers questions regarding financial aid programs and eligibility. Mrs. Longwell assists in the preparation of FAFSA applications and presents information regarding federal financial aid, scholarships, and grants for various groups, high school students and parents at meetings, group discussions, and workshops.

Elizabeth Longwell is an Edison State College alumna. She received her Associate in Arts degree in 2008 with honors and as a Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society member. In 2011, she graduated top of her class and she earned her Bachelor in Science degree in Supervision and Management with Magna Cum Laude honors and a membership from Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration. She anticipates beginning her Master of Arts in Applied Psychology in Higher Education Student Personnel Administration at Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in the fall 2012.

Pam Macander Pam Macander
Staff Assistant

Pam has been employed as a staff assistant with Edison since November 2012. Ms. Macander is available to assist you with scheduling appointments for advising, financial aid, provides information regarding the admission and enrollment process, and is a back-up cashier taking payments for applications, transcripts, tuition, and Connect Cards. She also maintains the schedules for the Conference Room and other rooms at Hendry/Glades for use with meetings and workshops. She received her Associate in Applied Science Degree in Child Care and Development through the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL in 1994.

Brooke Roughgarden
Assistant Director of Student Services

Brooke has worked at the Hendry Glades Center since July 2007. Prior to working at Edison Brooke was an academic advisor for the University of Central Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from UCF in December 2005. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in College Student Affairs at Nova Southeastern University and expects to earn her degree in 2013.
Mrs. Roughgarden oversees student services at the Hendry/Glades Center. She is available to provide support to students through academic advising, financial aid assistance, career exploration, Adaptive Services, and counseling referrals.

Crystal Saldana Crystal Saldana
Student Service Specialist

Crystal has been employed with Edison since 2007. She first started working as a test proctor, and then in 2008 became a full time employee with her current position. Although working at Edison, she is also a student as well. Mrs. Saldana’s goal is to receive an Associate in Arts degree. As a Student Service Specialist/ Cashier she is able to help students with the application process, registration, transcripts, payment and any other questions or concerns students may have regarding Edison State College.

Crystal Saldana Lori Shula
Instructional Assistant, English

Lori began her Edison State College career in 1998 as adjunct professor on Lee Campus. A lifelong love of reading and writing led to redirection of her energies to Hendry Glades Campus where she opened the Writing Center in 2010.
Lori holds a Master of Arts from USF Tampa in Rehabilitation Counseling and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with private practice offices in Ft Myers.
Lori enjoys an active lifestyle which includes gardening, kayaking, and travel. An avid supporter of theatre, she can be found applauding performances from Orlando to LaBelle to Naples. Lori is engaged in various forms of volunteerism as a way of giving back to the larger community while expressing her wide-ranging interests.

Marie Sprouse Marie Sprouse
Testing Specialist

Marie has worked at Edison State College since 2006 as the testing specialist. She earned her Associate in Arts degree in 2004 and Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management in 2011 from Edison State College. Mrs. Sprouse administers the College Placement Test, College Level Examination Program (CLEP), and overseas the Tutoring Center and College Prep Lab.

Marie Sprouse Sharon VanKylen
Instructional Assistant, Mathematics

Sharon gained a part-time position at Edison State College, Hendry Glades Center, in February 2011, and then became a full time employee in July 2011. As Instructional Assistant in Math, she is evolving the Math Lab’s function to support pre-college students for PERT and pre-college students for Lee High Tech’s Medical Math program.
Sharon earned a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Previous positions include; Learning Resource Assistant at Bryant & Stratton College in Milwaukee, Learning Disability Consultant and Learning Disability Facilitator at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Other interests are rooting for the Milwaukee Brewers, the Wisconsin Badgers Football team, and the Green Bay Packers. Go Pack!
