Greetings from Charlotte County!

Our twelve-year old campus is located on 171 beautiful acres adjacent to Interstate 75 in the southern edge of Charlotte County.  With well-equipped labs and modern classrooms featuring the latest in instructional technologies, we offer students the option to complete their Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree as well as a number of certificate programs.  The Charlotte Campus plans to begin offering bachelor’s degree coursework in 2008.

Edison hosts numerous community events and provides facilities for hundreds of community organizations, service clubs, non-profit agencies and local school events. We make available the use of a 17,350 square foot building to the YMCA as well as facilities for a nationally-accredited child care center to operate on our campus.  The James and Barbara Moore Observatory regularly provides educational sessions free to the public.  Campus walking trails offer a great venue to observe local wildlife, and resources in the Vernon Peeples Learning Resource Center are an asset to all.

Last year, Edison’s Charlotte Campus:

  • Enrolled over 2,500 credit and non-credit students.
  • In partnership with the Charlotte County Public Schools, Edison offered over 20 college credit courses each semester at Charlotte, Port Charlotte and Lemon Bay High Schools.
  • Continued to accept students in a Basic Nursing program funded entirely through private donations and public grants.
  • Increased the Edison Foundation’s Charlotte Pops at Sunset Scholarship Endowment Fund to $500,000.
  • Continued offering teacher education programming through the Educator Preparation Institute.

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I invite you to visit our campus on Airport Road. This web site has been designed to assist you in locating information about Edison, our facilities and programs. In the event you don't find what you need, please let us know. We are proud to be this community's college!
