Edison State College uses the Florida College Entry Level Placement Test (FCELPT) as its entry Placement Test. It is used to determine placement in English, mathematics, and reading courses. Students can access a test guide with helpful resources and practice tests on the Edison web site @ http://www.edison.edu/assessment/FCELPT_Study_Guide.pdf.
- Placement Testing Times & Schedule
- Students must complete and turn in an application for admissions to the Office of the Registrar prior to testing. Processing time for applications is 24 hours.
- Placement testing is required of all degree-seeking students, certificate-seeking students, high school students in Accelerated Programs, and Veterans. Non-degree-seeking students planning to take English, mathematics or foreign languages, must also be tested.
- Students are required to take the FCELPT or submit a full set of ACT-E or SAT-R scores taken within the previous two years.
- Students that have attended another college or university may bring in an official or unofficial transcript for evaluation.
- The Placement Test is administered at all campuses and sites. Contact local campus for additional information.
 Students who do not achieve the minimum scores on these tests, will be placed in, and required to satisfactorily complete, appropriate college preparatory instruction. "Florida State Board of Education Administrative Rule 6A-10.0315(20) mandates that students complete their remedial coursework by the time they have accumulated twelve (12) hours of college credit coursework or they must maintain continuous enrollment in college preparatory coursework each semester until the requirements are completed while performing satisfactorily in the degree earning coursework."

TO TEST:
- You must have a photo ID.
- You must know your Edison Student ID#.
- Please bring ACT/SAT scores taken within the last two years or College Transcripts if you are requesting an exemption from part or all of the Placement Test.
- If you are an Early College student (Dual Enrollment or 1908), please let us know.
- No children are to be left unattended. No calculators allowed. Paper & pens provided.
- After 31 days, you may retest once in ALL areas that are below college-level placement.
- Edison State College charges $15.00 to administer FCELPT for other Florida colleges. The Assessment fee will be paid at the Cashier’s Office and presented to the Assessment staff before the test is administered.
- Attention…Computers are monitored during testing. Students are not allowed to view other web sites on testing computers.
All Edison State College Testing Centers will be CLOSED on the following dates during the
Spring Semester 2010: March 8-14 and April 2, 2010
