Testing is considered an essential part of the college program.  Edison State College provides a secure testing environment for students at each campus location:   Lee Campus in Fort Myers, Collier Campus  in Naples, Charlotte Campus in Punta Gorda and the Hendry/Glades Center in Labelle. 

Testing services provided by the Assessment Centers include:

Florida College Entry Level Placement Test (FCELPT) is used to determine placement in English, mathematics, and reading courses.  Placement Testing is required for all degree seeking students, certificate-seeking students, high school students in Accelerated Programs and Veterans.  Non-degree-seeking students planning to take English, mathematics, or entry-level foreign languages, must also be tested.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program. More than 2,800 accredited institutions of higher education award credit for satisfactory scores on CLEP exams.  There are 35 examinations and all are available at Edison State College, although Edison does not award credit for all available exams.

Edison Online (Distance)testing services are available on all campuses and at the Hendry/Glades Center.  Testing locations, hours and procedures are on the Edison website http://www.edison.edu/elearning/testing.php

 Edison State College charges the fees listed below for Assessment Services:       

Students will pay the Assessment Fee at the Cashier's Office.  The receipt will be presented to the Assessment Staff before testing.
