Testing Services Mission Statement
Edison State College will provide reliable test administration and high quality customer service in a secure testing environment for students at each campus.
The following testing services are provided by Edison State College. Check each location for testing services offered and hours of operation:
Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) is used to determine placement in English, mathematics, and reading courses. Placement Testing is required for all degree seeking students, certificate-seeking students, high school students in Accelerated Programs and Veterans. Non-degree-seeking students planning to take English, mathematics, or entry-level foreign languages, must also be tested.
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Placement Test is used to determine placement for students whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from a US High School. Students may be required to take the English proficiency test before PERT placement testing is administered. For more information visit the English for Academic Purposes website.
College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program. More than 2,800 accredited institutions of higher education award credit for satisfactory scores on CLEP exams. There are 33 examinations and all are available at Edison State College. Edison does not award credit for all available exams.
Edison Online (Distance) testing services are available on all campuses and at the Hendry/Glades Center. Testing locations, hours, and procedures are on the Edison website at http://www.edison.edu/elearning/testing.php

Lee Campus - Online appointments are available and walk-ins are welcome if space is available and sufficient time is allowed for testing. (The PERT Placement Test averages 3 hours) - (239)489-9237.

Students pay the testing fees at the Cashier's Office. A receipt will be presented to the Testing Staff prior to testing.
