What is academic advising?

Academic advising is an integral part of a student's success at Edison State College. An advisor will assist the student in the following:

• Designing an educational plan to accomplish the objective desired by the student;

• Understanding the General Education Program of the College;

• Selecting courses for long-range educational goals;

• Resolving difficulties encountered by the student in understanding educational programs and transfer requirements;

• Monitoring the student's progress toward educational goals.
