The Early College (formally Dual Enrollment) program offers high school *freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn credit towards both high school graduation and college. Courses are offered on the college campus or on the campus of the various participating public high schools. Readiness for this program is determined through an examination of the student's high school GPA and scores earned on the ACT-E, SAT-R or FCELPT.

Students are limited to the number of credits that can be completed in an academic semester. Second semester freshmen are limited to 6 credits (Glades, Hendry and Lee counties only), sophomores are limited to 9 credits (except Collier county), and juniors and seniors are limited to 15 credits (Glades, Hendry and Lee counties only). Tuition is waived for this program and textbooks are available at no cost to public high school students attending a public high school within our service district.

The Early Admission program offers rising high school seniors the opportunity to enroll exclusively at Edison State College as full-time students (12 or more credits per semester). All credit earned is applied towards both high school graduation and college. High school GPA and scores earned on the ACT-E, SAT-R, or FCELPT are used to qualify a student for this program. Tuition is waived for this program and textbooks are available at no cost to public high school students. Tuition is waived for this program and textbooks are available at no cost to public school students attending a public high school within our service district. *Private schooled and home schooled students may be eligible to participate with tuition being waived. However textbooks and materials will need to be purchased.

Students participating in any of these accelerated programs must first see their guidance counselor, complete the admissions process form, and submit an Accelerated High School Registration Approval form signed by the high school principal or designee, the parent and the student.
